Independent Private Company
Homeowner Stewardship Partners is a private company.
HSP is not a governmental agency, county office, court, tax authority, sheriff's office, mortgage lender, mortgage servicer, foreclosure trustee, or law firm.
HSP may obtain and reference public records maintained by governmental agencies, courts, counties, trustees, and other organizations.
Use of or reference to those records does not imply affiliation, sponsorship, approval, or endorsement by those organizations.
HSP Is Not a Law Firm
HSP is not a law firm and does not provide legal representation or legal advice.
When an attorney is required or appropriate for a claim, legal services are provided by an independently licensed attorney engaged by the claimant.
The attorney-client relationship exists directly between the claimant and the attorney. The attorney remains responsible for legal advice, legal strategy, legal filings, and the professional obligations arising from that representation.
HSP does not control an independent attorney's professional judgment.
You May Have Other Options
Hiring HSP is voluntary.
Depending upon the jurisdiction and circumstances, you may be able to pursue surplus or excess proceeds directly through the court, county, trustee, lender, foreclosure firm, tax authority, or other entity holding the funds.
You may also choose to retain an attorney or another authorized service provider independently.
Potential Surplus Does Not Establish Entitlement
HSP may contact individuals because public or third-party records indicate that surplus or excess proceeds may exist in connection with property in which the individual may have had an interest.
Receiving a letter, telephone call, email, text message, or other communication from HSP does not establish that the recipient is legally entitled to those funds.
Eligibility and the amount ultimately payable may depend on applicable law, title and ownership records, liens, judgments, heirs, estates, competing claims, court orders, deadlines, prior payments, and requirements imposed by the entity holding the funds.
Public and Third-Party Records
HSP may use public records and commercially available information to identify and locate potential claimants and research potential claims.
Public and third-party records may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated.
HSP may request documentation or additional information before determining whether a potential claim should proceed.
Fees
HSP does not charge an upfront recovery fee.
Compensation for recovery services is contingent upon a successful recovery and is described in the written Service Agreement applicable to the engagement.
The amount or percentage HSP may lawfully charge can vary by state, type of claim, and applicable law. HSP's compensation for a particular engagement remains subject to applicable legal limitations and the terms of the signed Service Agreement.
Independent legal services, when required, are governed by the agreement between the claimant and the attorney providing those services.
No Promise of Outcome or Processing Time
HSP does not promise that funds will be recovered or that a claim will be resolved within a particular period.
Claim processing may be affected by courts, governmental agencies, funds holders, lienholders, competing claimants, documentation requirements, probate proceedings, statutory procedures, and other circumstances outside HSP's control.
Attorneys and Legal Representation
When legal representation is required or appropriate, clients may engage an independent attorney.
A referral or introduction to an attorney does not make that attorney an employee, agent, or legal department of HSP.
The attorney remains independently responsible for professional judgment and compliance with the rules governing the practice of law.
Taxes
HSP does not provide tax advice.
Receipt of surplus or excess proceeds may have tax or reporting consequences depending upon the claimant's individual circumstances. Claimants should consult an appropriately qualified tax professional regarding those matters.
Communications
Submitting information through the HSP website does not, by itself, authorize every form of marketing communication.
Consent to receive recurring or automated marketing text messages is obtained separately through the applicable SMS opt-in process.
Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of purchasing or receiving HSP services.
Recipients may revoke text-message consent or request that HSP stop marketing communications in accordance with applicable law.
State-Specific Requirements
Surplus funds recovery procedures vary by jurisdiction.
Applicable requirements may address claimant eligibility, attorney involvement, powers of attorney, assignments, service agreements, fee limitations, required disclosures, claim documentation, filing procedures, deadlines, and other matters.
HSP evaluates claims under the procedures and requirements applicable to the jurisdiction involved.
Information on this website should not be interpreted as a representation that the same procedure, fee arrangement, documentation, or recovery method applies in every state or county.
